Cat Merge BLEP

Eleven blepping cat heads, from a tiny cream Snowball to Midnight, the crowned black king, tumble and roll in a cardboard box. Drop them in, and two of a kind merge into the next size up. Make the biggest cats to earn fish, then spend the fish building your own Cat Café.

How to play

Drag to aim and let go to drop the cat in your hand, or move the mouse and click. On a keyboard, the arrow keys or A and D aim and Space drops. Only the five smallest cats are dealt, and the Next box shows which one is coming. When two cats of the same colour touch, they merge into the next size and you score that cat’s points: 1 for a Blush, up to 55 for a Midnight. Two Midnights that meet both vanish for 66 points. Cats roll and settle like balls, so one drop can set off a chain of merges. When the pile climbs toward the pink tape, the tape flashes and the cats look worried. Keep going until cats stick up past the tape and the box is full: the run ends, and a card shows your score, your best and the fish you earned.

Tips

• Keep sizes in order, big on one side and small on the other, so each merge rolls into the next one.
• Cucumber and Catnip are only used up when you tap a cat. Changed your mind? Tap the button again to put it away for free.
• The Laser clears every Snowball and Blush at once. Save it for when little cats are wedged between big ones.
• A cat grown with Catnip scores no points and pays no fish, so save it for unjamming the box.
• Claim your daily yarn on the Build screen. One yarn refills a power-up when it runs out.

Cats, power-ups and the Cat Café

There are eleven cats, each its own colour and size: Snowball, Blush, Ember, Ginger, Butter, Lime, Mint, Sky, Iris, Grape and Midnight. The row of cats on screen shows them in order. Merging up to an Iris earns 1 fish, a Grape 2 and a Midnight 3.

Tap Build, by your fish or on the end-of-run card, to spend them on the Cat Café: five chapters and 43 things to build in order, each costing between 1 and 7 fish. In the first chapter you fill a corner room piece by piece, and cats move in.

You start with one of each power-up. The Laser chases off every Snowball and Blush, the Cucumber scares away one cat you tap, Catnip grows one cat a size and the Shake gives the whole box a good shake. When one runs out, a ball of yarn refills it. Yarn comes from a seven-day calendar on the Build screen, one claim a day, with three on the last day. Your best score, fish, yarn and café are saved.
